Stags Head Drinking Rhyton

This finely detailed replica Apulian red-figure rhyton is shaped as a stag’s head and is based on an original vessel dated to approximately 340–330 BC. Rhyta were ceremonial drinking vessels used in Ancient Greece, designed for pouring libations or ritual liquids during feasts and religious ceremonies.

The replica reflects authentic ancient production methods, combining a moulded animal head with red-figure pottery techniques. It features black-glossed ceramic surfaces with painted decoration, echoing the craftsmanship and visual storytelling characteristic of South Italian (Apulian) Greek pottery of the late Classical period.
